Wesleyan Conference.

Wellington, This day. j At the Wesleyau Conference last night the reports of the committee on the draft of a Book of Discipline and of the district meeting recom- ! mendations on the basis of Methodist Union, were presented and adopted The Eev Mr Oliver was appointed to deliver the next Conference lecture, the subject to be " Inspiration." The following ministers and laymen were elected to the position of representatives to the next General Conference, to be held next Nov. m Christchurch : — Ministers — President and Secretary, ex-officio ; Eevs Eeid, Berry, Bavin, Oliver, Kirk, Williams, Lewis and Lee. Laymen — Messrs Buddie, Hobbs, Moxhani, John Manchester, George Perriman, Prime, Harris, Kiug and J. L. Wilson . The Auckland Theological Institution affairs were reviewed, and the ! balance sheet read and adopted. The Eevs Bavin, Reid, Carr, Watkin and Taylor were appointed lecturers on theology, hernieneutics, ecclessiasticalhistory.andmentalandxnoral science. The question ol probationers who have resigned leaving unfulfilled ' liabilities for college training was considered, but no resolution 'was adopted, consideration of the matter being postponed till to-day. A form of agreement to be signed by all I students entering the college m j future was agreed to. The conference is expected to close to-day. Latesf. The consideration of the cases of probationers who have resigned during the year, and have been received m the Episcopal Church leaving amounts due for collegiate training unpaid, was resumed. The following resolution was unanimously passed : — That the Secretary of the Conference be instructed to apply to the former probationers for the Wesleyan ministry who have lately been received into Anglican Church for payment 01 sums owing by ihexa on account of their training, and lie be further instructed, should such application fail m any case to call the attention , of the Diocesan Synod m the bounds of which they reside to the impropriety of receiving as candidates for holy orders men who have not hon- [ orably discharged existing financial obligations to a sister Church."
A vote of thanks was passed to the President for his services m connection with the Tararua Fund.
Revs Carr, Simmonds, Baumber, M'Nicoll, Bond, and C. Griffen were appointed a District Sunday School Committee. It was decided unani* mously to ask the next General Conference to constitnte New Zealand an independent and separate Conference, on the basis of the Methodist Union Committee's Report. The President announced to the Confereuee that the late Rev John Warren had j bequeathed LIOO to the Supernumerary Fund. The usual vote of thanks having been passed, the journal was read, and the eleventh New Zealand Conference closed its session.
