WELLINGTON RACING CLUB.

Per Press Association. Wellington, this day. A meeting of the Wellington Racing Club was held last night. The secretary brought up the balance sheet which showed : — Receipts £213119s 9d; expenditure, £177919s 4s; balance m hand, £351 19s sd; unpaid entries and other cash assets, £112 6d; outstanding liabilities up to date £265 2s lid. A balance of nearly £200 will be left to the credit of the club after settling up their liabilities. Mr J. R. George congratulated the club on its financial condition, and general regret was expressed at the resignation of Mr Lyon, the hon. secretary, owing to business engagements. It was resolved to present him with a gold chronometer. A vote of thanks and appreciation of services was passed to Mr Evett, handicapper.
