March 7. A house containing ten rooms, occupied by Miss Nantes as a private school, was burned down this afternoon. The origin is believed to i have been ashes thrown out behind ! the kitchen. r he building is the property of Mr Aspinall, solicitor, of Temuka. It is believed to be insured for £600. The furniture was mostly saved. It is insured m the Norwich Union office for £200. A house with five rooms adjoining, belonging to Mr JJennent, County Clerk, caught fire and was burned down. It was insured for £250 m the Norwich Union and £50 m the Colonial. The furniture and effects were saved. They were insured m various offices for £300.
