FATAL FIRE AT CHRISTCHURACH
♦ ~ Per Press Association. Christchurch, Sepcemb'r, 3. Shortly after three o'clock this morning Peathers's Hotel, Lincoln Road, occupied by J. Hansaman, was destroyed Dy fire. Mr Hansaman was awaT i« * imaru- Mrs Hansaman retired at midnight, when all appeared safe. She left a small fire m the dining-room gr'^te, and the fire seems to have, commenced m that part of the building. After the fire a Jew hawker lodging at the hotel, named Walter Ledi't, was mfssed and tho chavied remains w re subsequently discovered.
