MINING ACCIDENT.

A mining accident occurred yesterday, between 11 and 12, at Cage Terrace, near the junction of the Greepstoue Creek with the Teremakau liiver on the south side. Three men named Edward Bowen, James Dwan and Daniel McNamara were working m the drive, which caved m. Not coming home to tea seasch was made when it was found they were all entombed. The miners at once set to work to extricate them by two drives Irom the tunnel, Bowen coul dbe heard'froin ont drive and Dwan from the other. About two o'clock thia morniDg Bowen was extricated and it wav ex* pected that Dwan would be rescued about 11 this morning. McNamara has not been heard and as he was only 10 feet from Bowen he is supposed to be killed. Bowen is suffering from long incarceration and norm circulation, being jammed on to the truck by a slab which again was only supported half an imh on a prop. The miners are working vigorously to rescue the other two.
