While passing the Stewart street crossing, William Ames, the engine driver, leaned over, when his head struck against an old notice board close to the railway line, and he was knocked off the engine When picked up he was insensible, and was brought to the station on a shunting engine. He recovered consciousness m a few minutes, aud it was lound he had not sustained any serious injury The train waa going at. the rate of fifteen miles an hour at the time.
