Sept 29. Obituary— Frederick Morley, the well-known p; of jssional cricketer. The Times m its issue this morn* ing publishes letters from Khartoun* recounting the events which occurred there from th« time communication was interrupted until recent dates. The letters state that from April an* til July General Gordon's troops had almosn daily engagements with the Arab rebels, and repeatedly repulsed them with fearful loss. The conflictswith the followers of the Mabdi culminated m a brilliant victory, which General Gordon secured on July 28th, completely clearing the rebela away from the neighborhood of Khartoum. During the battle Col. Stewart was wounded, bat has since recovered. The Arab Job* was very heavy and several hundreds of the Khartoum garrison were killed. !
