October 'll. : Telegrams, have been , received from the Mjadir of Dongola with details of -thV treacherous massacre of Colonel Stewart's party by the Arabs at Wa^y El/Homar. The Mudir states that the whole party were not killed and that the lives of fourteen of them were Bpared by the Arabs who hold them as prisoners. General Lord Wolßeley has ordered the Mudir's troops at Meraui, a . town 80 miles below the fourth cataract on the nile to rescue or ransom the prisoners.
