M.R. SNELSON'S INAUGURAL SALE AT KARERE.
The attendance at Mr Snelton's sale at Karere yesterday wan good, and the yards were full, only one hitch occurring to make the success an unqualified one, tha.t being the unsettled state of the weather, which prevented the cattle from Fitzhsr* bert from being brought iu, buyers for these lines having come & long to purchase. Mr Sly were reaH^|oagnjifiQent and in , t&p eondi* tion. breeder no doubt Mr Sly rii|second to none on thecoast, arid^at yesterday's sale every * one present expressed themselves surprised that such animals as these had not Defore. been brought promi* nently to tho front. Some of the prices realised were :— Heifer calves, 17s 6<3 each; bullcalTea 26s to 323 6d , yearling heifers, £3 5s to £2 12s 6d ; 2Kjear-old heifen, £i 103 to £5 2s 6d ; cows, 1 4 12s 6d, £7, £7 Ifis to £12 ; yearling Dull, £2 10s ; Robin Hood, highest bid, 23 guineas ; 2-year-old steers, £3 ; 8y ear-old do, £4 12s 6d to £5 10s ; jearlihg heifers, 27t 6d; 2-year-old do £2 10s to £3 ; demand for female stock nil, barring the Uerefords ; sow and litter of 10 £3 12* 6d.
