The printing is'fainfer and they have a general washed-i«ut appearance Ofhey purport to be n lued at Christ church, April 1, 1884, signed J: Hay Barclay, j manager. The words '*one pound" are printed in gi een on the back as, i» the cennine ones but the appearance of tbe printing is very different They were cireu* lated on the racecourse, and were detected by eight of them being paid in on accouo't of B'.rke, a publican who had a booth on the course, ami who had been deceived by them.- Six more were, seized by" the police on the course to»day, and others have been found. Three pur- one- were detained by. the police on .the course,; but all protested; that th^y had been taken id them? elves. , .'...-, - -. '. .
