INCONSISTENCY.
[To the Editor.] Sib, — I wag rather surprised at the 'action of the " Army " yesterday m acting so inconsistent and ohiidish. Here we have a body of men (can I call them such?) who profess to be followers of one who said " Love your enemies ; do good to those who spitefully treat, you" whowassilentwhenhewasreviledireviled hot again, and on no occasion do we find him or His early followers flee to the law on the most tri> fling offence. But perhaps the " Major's "'beautiful suit was lolled with that flour- whiclruwbuld require a little. work to brush it off (which of course he is nut food of. Keally, Mr Editor, these things are absurd. It's no much like school children running to their teacher with, " please sir, Johnny Jones is calling, me names." If the case had been tried by anyone but one of their sympathisers, he would have dismissed it and told the Major (or whatever he's called) to go home to his ma. I am, &c, Matthew v, 38 to 48.
