Tec 5. The Franchise Bill was under consideration m the House of Lords yesterday and passed through committee. In the House of Commons last night the redistribution of seats bill was rea<i a second tiaie. 'Parliament will reassemble after the Chr'sfcnms recess on .February 19th. In the House of Commons last evening, m reply to questions, the Hon Evelyn Ashley stated that the Cape Colonists would not be called upon to bear any portion of the cost of the expedition to Bechualand. The Colonial Undersecretary also stated that the Imperial Govern* ment would not assent to the settlement of TBechuanaua'and as affected by the Cape Government.
