HALCOMBE & SHERWILL'S MONTHLY REPORT.

During December we have" held tnree sales, viz., at Halcombe, Ashurst, and Feilding. : .^ At Halcombe we yarded 89 head of cittle aud 59 sheep. The attendance was large but the bidding was not brick, and the weather most inclement. The following prices were realised .-—Beef; £7 10s; 2-year-old heifers, £2 IOs ; fat cows, £4 ss ; 3-year-bld steers. £* 15« to £4 Is ; hacks, £3. 10s to £i ; fat wethers, 10s. „ ; .>- ,«r> At Ashurst we yarded; 91 head of cattle. Bain fell heavily all day. Prices r-^Dalry cows, £l 5s to £3 ; •weaherg^ 15s ; yearlings; £1 10s 'to £1 16s; 18 months and 2-year-old steers, £2 to £2 15s, The sheep advertised could not come forward owing to tho weather. : ... ' ,T At Feilding we yarded 284 head of cattle and\ 1,497 sheed.i. Nearly the whole of the cattle *ere -sold under the hammer. The attendance was good and -the bidding was brisker than we have known it for some "line The prices, realized gave entire satisfaction to the vendors, m most instances being over reserves. We were surprised that the fat withers did not sell, as -r they were prime and well. worth tbe reserve placed upon them.
