The stewards held an exhaustive enquiry on the allegation that tbe accident had resulted from a crow, Malone, thejrider of Flag, trying to shot out Te Uku. This was positively affirmed by two jockoys, but other evidence favoured Malone. The stewards acquitted Malone of intentionally causing the injury, but gave him a sever*. reprimand. Tho .latest report state*. that O'Neil is progressing well.
