The accident was due to faulty valves. The captain land two of the crew in tho conningitowerwere thrown Overboard and saved. Divers hearing cries in the interior of the vessel, sought help, and the subtnuine was refloated and all were saved. Tbe crew had sought refuge in the entral.watertight compartment.
