UNDER WHICH FLAG P

Our evening contemporary is responsible for tbe Boyle Roche declaration that Mr Fred Pirani has " already, taken up his residence in Palmerston, although it will be several weeks before he will be here altogether." From this and sundry other indications it may be inferred that Mr Pirani has definitely forsaken the Hutt electorate, and thaj; i he intends to woo the suffrages of the Palmerston constituency. That being the case it would be interesting to1 know at an early date whether Mr Pirani intends to appear in his original role of Labor candidate, or I his subsequent role of Independent . Liberal, or his ultimate role of Anti- : Seddonian. Will he be found in ifehe camp of the JRigg Socialists, or the Taylor Progressive Liberalists, or in the ranks of the Roderick Mackenzie Country Party, or amongst the Straight OutMassey Oppositionists? Or will he be merely a political Ishmaelite with no particular principles, and no very settled place of abode? We ask these questions and desire an early answer from Mr Pirani, because our attitude towards him will largely depend on the i nature of his reply. We ask also on i behalf of a very large number of '■ people in this electorate, who do not wish to be left in the position of ' having of two evils to chose the , least.
