Mklbourne, Saturday The V.R.C. Commhteo decided to allow the New Zealand horses to run in tho Grand National Steeplechase.
Betting was 6 to 1 against Beilis, who Waa f avourito.
Freedom, Springfield, and Airly led alternately until reaching tbo abattoirs the second time, when ihe former, who, was in the van, and a number of others came to grief. Springlield carried on the rnnuing over the last jump, but at the turn for home Bo'.lis aud Isis come fast, and cutting down the leader, fought out a good fiuisb, Beilis winning by three lengths in 6min Msec.
Vp-to-Date finished seventh. In the Lawn Handicap, Machine Gun finished sixth.
