An Easy Landing Effected
Enemy Quickly Retire
Received July 11, 9.38 p.m. Sydney,' Last Night. The Japanese Consul's advices state that Admiral Katoaka's squadron arrived at Saghalien at daybreak on.the 7th.
A naval detachmeat landed without TPfiUbunce and occupied a position piev'oasly determined upon.
W nereupon a part of the army landed and relieved the naval detachment.
Meanwhile the enemy's fort on a height south of Korsakosk opened fire, bat no damage was done to thesquadron.
The army occupied Korsakosk on tbe morning of the Bth without much resistance.
The Russians had burnt the town and, retired to a position near Bolvivka, where they again attempted to resist. Being dislodged, they retired towards Yladimivoska.
"We captured four gun?," states the report, " arid a quantity of ammunition, sustaining no damage ourselves."
