Press Association— Copyright. Keceived July 12, 8.0 p.m. Sydney, Last Night. There wa3 fine weather, and 10,000 were present at the football match, New Zealand v, Metropolitan Union. The alterations to the Now Zealand team on Saturday's team were: Booth took Wallace's place, and tho latter took five-eighths in place of Hunter, and McDonald replaced Glenn among the forwards. Roberts captained tbe New Zealanders and won tho toss. After some lively play without much advantage to either side. Johnston got away fasti and passed to Nicholson, who was collared just oa the lino arid lost the bull. The <oc«l men removed play to tho neutril zone, but only momeutimly, foe the Blacks brought the leather back with a fino rush and McGregor secured tho ball, passing it on to Smith, who when being tackled whipped U back to McGregor, who in turn handed it on to Wallace, and tbe latter crossed tho line. Gillett failed to convert.—New Zealand, S to 0. A little lator on Hedley secured a splendid mark. He was charged at the ■arne instant by Roberts, tho result being that Hedley had to retire injured, and Cobcroft took his place. New Zealand continued to press on the home team until the Bkain was relieved by a free kick, but the game was soon brought back by the visitors, and from a line out Johnston jumped across and scored the second try.' Wallace was given tho kick, but the ball flew wide.—New Zealand 6 to nil. After a brief spell of play in the centre of the ground, the New Zealanders rushed down again and Glasgow, strug gling over, registered the third trywhich Gillett again failed to convert,, though this time the kick was an easy one Half-time waß whistled "with" New Zealand 9 t& nil; The game up, to this point was more interesting than the test match on Saturday. The home team showed to advantago in tho line out, but their passing was faulty and they were frequently slow in availing themselves of the advantage of opening*. Penman and Murnin played a capital game, while Mynott and Roberts were prominent among the visitors, tho former being specially conspicuous by his clever kicking in tight corner*.. Shortly after the beginning of the second spell New Zealanders werß compelled to act on the defensive and from a penalty kick (the result of handling the ball in the scrum) on their goal lino McMahon kicked a goal.—New Zealand 9, Metropolitan 3.

Once in play again the New Zealanders warmed up and made the game merry, the locals' first blood stimulating them td hard play. In a acrurubio from the line-out Mynotß got away, then passed to Bmith and tho latter to McGregor^ who by brilliant play carried the ball down to his opponents' full-back when he handed on to Wallace who ran in. .Wallace took the kick himself and scored the major points.—New Zealand 14 to 3.

On resuming the Metropolitans made a desperate rush down the New Zea< landers' twenty-fives, but Ogaard fumbling at a critical moment, the visitors got possession' and removed the scene of tho struggle to neutral territory. Here Mynott again got splendidly away, and if he had gone on must have scored, but he dropped the ball and New South Wales forced. After the Metrops had once more invaded tho New Zealand zone, the the tension was removed by a long kick by Gillett. O'Sullivan followed up smartly and tried to get the leather with a clear track in front of him, but an unfortunate knock-on spoiled what looked liko a certain Boore. Then Roberta, from a scrum outside the Mctrop's tv/onty-five passed to Mynott, who in turn gave it to McGregor, and the latter by a pretty feinting run scored. Taking the kick himself he converted. New Zealand 19 to 3.

Immediately afterwards Roberts kicked tbe oval over the opposing threequarters to Wallace, who got possession and scored. Booth faiitd to send the ball over. Now Zealand 22 to 3.

After a spell of quiet pJay, the game ended with New Zealand 22 points, Metropolitan Union 3.
