Pianoforte Recital

RUSSIAN VISITOR AT FEILDINGA large and enthusiastic audience attended the recital given by Paul Vinogradoff, the Russian pianist, at the Parish hall, Feilding, on Tuesday evening, under the auspices of the local branch of the Britisli Music Society. For the success of the recital much praise is due to Mr. R. R. F. Jones, the Feilding branch secretary, who' has taken up the work of the society most enthusiastically and with the backing of music lovers of the town and district, has been successful in gathering together an organisation calculated to promote the very best in music. Mr. VinogradofE delighted his audience with his masterly handling of many notablo works and the inclusion of several of his own compositions added interest to a delightful programme. In the Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 2 in C Minor the visitor had the assistance of Mr. Jones and this number was genuinely admired. Assisting artists were Mr. Edward Douds, baritone, or Palmerston North, and Miss M. Muirhead, also of Palmerston North.

At the conclusion of the recital Mr. Jones thanked Mr. F. Chappell for the use of his piano and also acknowledged the help given by the visitors from Palmerston North.
