Notes of the Day
The primer classes at Manchester Street School gave a delightful quad concert on Thursday afternoon in aid of the Christmas tree fund. Miss Edwards, the infant mistress, had charge of the programme with Miss Armour at the piano.
A good deal of business was done in committee at Thursday’s meeting of the Fcilding Borough Council. Most of it had to do with the council’s negotiations respecting the renewal, oi a loan and of the council’s interviews with tho A.M.P. Society on the question of changing the domicile of its loans with the society. Although Or. E. Fair was absent owing to ill-health, the Mayor (Mr. C. E. Taylor) stated that he had taken the opportunity of conferring with Cr. Fair on the financial questions and the council was not, therefore, deprived of that councillor’s advice. Mr. Taylor said that his proposals had the full concurrence of Cr. Fair.
