The Tivoli
“LOVE ME TO-NIGHT”
Laugh, and the world laughs with you . . . and Maurice Chevalier classifies your character. The French star, whose latest Paramount picture, “Love Me To-night,” a Bouben Mamoulian production, is now at the Tivoli Theatre, has come to the conclusion that each man reveals himself in hi's laugh. Years of experience in watching people laugh at his quips has taught him that character conies to view r in moments of amusement, as w r eil as moments of despair and unhappiness. Briefly, these are the conclusions he has reached: Hearty laugher's may be trusted; those who laugh with body as well as voice usually are generous and sympathetic; the shrewd, cautious and not always over-scrupulous man betrays himself by throaty laughter, his face being almost straight; the good-natured are discovered by “inside laughter" —those whose shaking shoulders express mirth; laughing without a smile indicates a hard heart; explosive, loud laughers often are bluffing heartiness; those with.little jerky laughs usually are persons of shallow character, although they often are mentally brilliant; the large-heart-ed souls laugh rarely but their joy is reflected in eyes, lips and face'. - Audi-
cnees at ‘'Love Me To-night” ha.ve ample opportunity to reveal their characters in laughter. The picture is done in a light, gay mood. A matinee will be held to-day at 2.30 p.m.
