Cheltenham Dairy Co.
BUTTER PRODUCTION UP
The butter output by . the Cheltenham Dairy Co. for the current season has shown an increase of 150 tons, compared with the figures for the same period last year. " The January production, despite the dry weather, was in exce'ss of that for the same month last year, and the recent rains are expected to ensure a high output for the current month. Tlio latest quotations from London advise prices at 80s to 81s per cwt., .which represents Sd per lb at the old exchange rate. It is not generally known that the butter now being sold at Homo does not participate in the higher exchange premium for the reason tliat companies drew against . the shipment to its full value. In. other words the returns for the butter now
being sold at Home were received almost immediately ou shipment. All butter graded on and after December 14 last year will benefit by tiro exchange and on current London prices the return will be slightly over 9d per lb • i
