Monthly Meeting of Y.W.C.A. Board

The monthly meeting of the Palmerston North Y.W.C.A. was held in the hostel yesterday, there being present Mesdames Sinclair (chair), Barnett, Griggs, Pointon, Butherfurd, Greig,. Misses Forrest, Scottcr, Cameron, and the general secretary, Miss Ashton. Apologies wero received from Mesdames Mouldey, Phillips, Ollivcr and Bierre for their absence.

The Matron reportod that there had been 41 ca'sual guests at the hostel during December and 45 during January. Reports from the House and Girls’ Work Committee wero road and received. The secretary reported on the Y.W.C.A. conference, which had been held at Waitaki Boys’ High School, Oamaru, at the beginning of January. Miss Dora Hnusmann, the delegate from the Palmerston North community, reported specially on the activities of the Girl Citizen conference, and was afterwards thanked by tho board members for her enthusiastic and entertaining report.

Much time was .spent in making arrangements for tho Y.W.C.A. garden party, for which Mrs. Barnett lias most kindly offered her garden. At tho conclusion of tho business of tho mooting afternoon tea was served.
