"Champion North”
Preparations are almost complete for the staging of “Champion North” at All Saints’ hall to-morrow and Wednesday. This charming comedy by Theodora Wilson Wilson is being produced by Mrs. S. T. Bristow. Interwoven with the main plot, which centres round a Westmorlond home, is a very charming love theme, which, combined with the flashes of sparkling humour, offsets some of the more serious portions of the play. In the part of the squire’s daughter and potential rockgardener, Miss Ruth Skerman plays a difficult role iu a bright manner, Mr. Colin Mcßae playing opposite her as tho sou of a Bishop and a pseudo-gard-ener, displays a great interest iu his part. These two provide the love story of the play. From the social pinnacle on which she ■ stands, the squire’s daughter looks down upon her “rockgardener,” until subsequent events bring him forward in his true light. The author has worked out- the plot well, and the play should prove both delightful and entertaining.
