Soldier’s Novel Iron Ration
A private in the 2nd. Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment, George Henry Putnam, aged 23, was recently sentenced by an Aldershot court-martial to 42 days’ detention for fraud. The fraud consisted of producing infirmity by swallowing a nail, a needle, a button fastener and a piece of metal while a-t the Aldershot detention barracks. .
