Fishing Season in Feilding District
GOOD SPORT OFFERING. The 1933 trout fishing season commenced on Sunday when anglers were out early seeking verification of the promise of good sport. They wore not disappointed for all rivers and streams throughout the Feilding Acclimatisation Society’s district offered good conditioned trout. The day was fine but a high wind rather marred an otherwise successful inauguration of the new season.
The reports received yesterday from all points of the district were encouraging to the society’s officials, whose efforts to provide anglers with thebest possible sport have been untiring. The Oroua, Pohangina, Manawatu and Rangitikei rivers were in first-class condition—the waters running vlear arid fully to the liking of anglers. In fact, but for the high wind conditions would have been perfect.
