From Our Own Correspondent. The monthly meeting of the Tlakitahuna Women’s Institute was held on Friday afternoon, Mrs. Davies presiding over a fair attendance. A vote of sympathy was passed to a member, Mis. Ross, who had recently suffered a bereavement in the death of her father. A collection was taken up for pennies for the Governor-General s relief func. Mrs. Davies and Mrs. D. Rowland wei chosen as delegates to attend!the hal t yearly council meeting to be held Man-atainoka. The competition for the day was for the best pot of marmalade and the winners were Mrs. 1 autier fir . Miss Marjorie Rowland second, wlnle Mrs' W McEwen and Mrs. Judd tied tm third Place. During the afternoon two members of the Singer Sewing Machffie Company’s staff demonstrated the uses of The attachments of the Singer sewing machine This demonstration piotea Tost interesting to all present.
