District Nursing Guild Reports for the Month
Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., presided over the monthly meeting of the District Nursing Guild held at the City Council Chambers yesterday afternoon. Also present were Mesdames W. L. Fitzherbert, Z. Gill, J. Bett, E. Cole, L. Bale, C. F. Spooner, Coker, M. Aitchison (hon. secretary), Miss Cunning•hamo, and Mr J. A. McLeavey. Sister Spcnsley was also in attendance. There were apologies from Mesdames L. A. Abraham, T. Hewitt, S. Trask and Miss Nairn,
Nurse’s Report For the month of September the district nurse reported that 273 visits had been paid; one death had occurred and 29 now patients had been added to the books. Grateful acknowledgment was made of contributions of clothing from Aokautcre Women’s Institute (40 garments), Baptist Ladies’ Guild, Mrs Whyte, St. Paul's Methodist Ladies’ Guild (babies’ singlets), also for cakes from St. Andrew’s Ladies’ Guild and the L.E.C. Bakery, and for £2 2s from an anonymous donor. —The report was received.
The monthly reports of oases for the Hospital Board were before the meeting for consideration. Owing to the calls boing made on the public for the Queen Carnival it was resolved to postpone the guild’s annual .street appeal until December 2, members to endeavour to secure collectors.
Arrangements wore finalised for the annual meeting to bo held next month.
