Grand Concert at P.D.C.

To-night, at the P.D.C,, a grand carnival concert will be hcM on behalf of the Retailers’ Queen, Miss Edna Boon. A very attractive programme has been arranged by Mr. Garde Grimshaw. A large number of tickets for this concert have already been sold and it is anticipated that Miss Boon will have many votes added to her score. .SPECIAL SHOP DAY THURSDAY.. . Members of the Plunket, and Friendly Societies’ Queen Committee are holding a special shop day on Thursday. Mr. A. Sutherland’s shop recently occupied by Mr. Swallow, bookseller, will be this centre of activities, where home-made cakes, sweets, vegetables, flowers and clothing will be on sale. Every penny spent at the Plunket shop will mean an extra vote for the Plunket Queen. POPULAR POPS AT OPERA HOUSE. The first combined effort made by all queen committees takes place at the Opera House on Friday night, when “Popular Pops/’ five exciting acts prodded by each of tho queen committees, will be "presented. Each of the carnival queens will be presented to the audience.
