Clean, Fast Comedy About Ocean Swimming Event

JuE E. BROWN IN “YOU SAID A MOUTHFUL” IS BOOKED

“foil Said a Mouthful,” Joe E. Brown’s latest comedy, is another comedy attraction. Joe E. Brown is a distinctive comedian, for although he is cast in “simple” parts, he is never silly, but is always unusually funny and convincing. He scores a big success in “You Said a Mouthful,” a clean and fast comedy, dealing with ocean swimming.

Joe Brown is cast as a shipping clerk who is the butt of his office: that is, until he is left a fortune, b’ the fortune consists of valueless bonds, so Joo is left destitute, with a small black boy, Som, as they only friend. Things arc looking Inaek for tho young man when lie is -nvited to a big Californian home, his hosts being under the impres sion that he is a champion Canadian swimmer. Joe cannot swim a stroke, but the pretty daughter of his hosts believes in him, and persuades him to enter for a marathon swim. Joe learns to swim, but no more, and how ho wins the big race makes one of the funniest scenes imaginable. Ginger Rogers acts well and looks very pretty in the feminine lead, and all the others act well, particularly Walter Walker in another of his “prosperous papa” roles.
