Plenty of Activity At the Milson Airport
’PLANES ARRIVING AND DEPARTING Very few citizens of Palmerston North realise just how important an asset Milson aerodrome is to the city, and yet week by week aeroplanes of all types call or stop at tho airport as they pass on their journeys up and down the island. In addition, training operations for local enthusiasts arc proceeding and excellent results arc being secured.
Last week club members aggregated 2 hours 25 minutes’ flying time (which included a trip to Foxton and return by the club captain, Mr H. C. Walker) _ while the pilots in tho air included Messrs R. L. McGassin, G. Dixon, H. C. Walker, R. Linklater and SquadronLeader M. C. McGregor. The lastnamed gave a stunting exhibition over the dromo on Saturday.
Instruction is being conducted by Flying-Officer J. Buckoridgc, on behalf of the Wairarapa Aero Club. Arrivals during the week included ACQ, from Levin, polited by Major Cowper on the 27th; ACD, piloted by Flying-Officer Buckeridge, from Masterton, who was accompanied by Mr H. M. Talbot-Lehmann, M.C., relieving instructor to the Wairarapa Aero Club, on the 29 th; A AX, piloted by Mr C. Linn, from New Plymouth (and return), on .the 29th; AAV, piloted by Mr C. Dunford, from Wellington, on the 29th (returning to the capital city the following day); ABP, piloted by Mr M. King, from Wanganui, on the 30th; ABD, piloted by Mr L. Mang.ham from Wellington, on the 30th,
Departures included ABD for Otaki (and return) on October 1, and ABP for Wanganui the same day.
