Mr John Kilkenny, Mayor of Westport, wired the Prime Minister today: —“The Westport Borough Council urges the Government immediately to accept the terms of the English company which is prepared to iuvest £OOO,000 in the manufacture of by-products from bituminous coal in New Zealand. As the Government has large capital invested in the harbour and railway here, the establishment of a work would immensely benefit the harbour, railway and district.”
