Another bandit outrage occurred in. Japanese-controlled territory, A train proceeding to Newchang was held up by a large force under a notorious chieftain, Suhai, who has eluded capture for several years, The bandits fired a volley at the train, killing one and wounding 23 passengers seriously. Afterwards they looted the train, taking 20 persons as hostages.
