quarterly returns The quarterly returns of the Feilain<v Magistrate’s Court were made available yesterday. These cover operalions for the period ended September 30. A substantial drop, is recordcd in the fees and fines paid overtlie period when compared with the same quarter last year, the respective totals being £122, as aaginst £2Ol. The details of the business of the Court are as follow, the 1932 figures being shown in parentheses:—Numoer of sittings, I t (21); civil cases heard, 2 (4) • distress warrants issued, o (o), -judgment summons, 7 (15); warrants of committal, 3 (2); criminal cases heard against males, 42 (87); ogams' females, 3 (2); total fees ana fine., £123 Is (£201). t7 o In the civil business of the Court. 7.1 plaints were entered during the las., three months compared with /6 for the corresponding period a year ago. Ihe total amount sued for was £920 4s Id (£l2Bl 11s); cases tried, o 7 (oO), the total amount, claimed m the cases tried £590 iss 4d (£1499 Os 7d); total amount recovered £524 ISs 4d (£1291 14r, Id).
