Byrd’s Supply Ship Puts Back to Port

ROUGH WEATHER ALONG THE COAST United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Friday. 3.50 p.m. NEW* YORK, Oct. 5. A message from Mouth port (North Carolina) states that Rear-Admiral Richard E. Byrd's supply ship, the Bear of Oakland, was towed into Southport late on Thursday by tho tug Blanche, which answered a call for aid off Frying Pan Shoals. The coastguard headquarters advised that the Bear of Oakland had been towed in because the skipper desired to make port on account of storm warnings along the coast. Advices said the condition of the vessel was satisfactory.
