WOODVILLE The monthly meeting of the Woodvillo W.I. was held in the Parish Hall on Tuesday last, Mrs W. H. Nixon presiding over a very largo attendance and welcoming four now members. Community singing was indulged in and enjoyed. Mrs Nixon, in a few wcll-chosou words, said farewell on behalf of tho Institute to one of the members (Mrs Buddiick) who is leaving the district, and presented her with a posy. Mrs Ruddick suitably replied. Mosdames Croskery and Gilbert were appointed delegates to the half-yearly council mooting. Mrs Armistead gave a most interesting talk on China, particularly Shanghai, and told some amusing incidents that happened during her stay there. Mrs Nixon passed a hearty vote of thanks to the speaker. Tho competition was for tho most economical and nutritious three-course dinner menu. There were 11 entries and the result- is to be given later. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Hanson, Hickson, Jaine, Jensen, Misses Kirkpatrick, Lovell and helpers. Tho singing of the National Anthem brought another pleasant, time to a close.
