Church Services

The services at the United Evangelical Church will be of a special nature, when the pastor, Mr Wesley E. Richards, will preach at 11 o'clock on the subject of “Chirst’s Riches and His Poverty.” At 7 p.m. he will take the special subject, “The Origin, and Nature of Man." The “tadpole and ape theory" of man’s origin will be briefly considered before presenting plain Bible statements of the wonderful creation of man by the Supreme Creator and Euler of the Universe. As Mr Richards is the author of a brochure on “The Bible and Science, Creation or Evolution,” which has had a wide distribution and has gone into two editions, he is well qualified to speak on the subject. As the theory of the socalled evolution of species is taught in our schools, parents are specially invited to hear this address. At Emmanuel Congregational Church, Broadway, to-morrow, Rev. C. G. Hedley Bycroft will conduct both services. In the morning the subject will be “Diligent Work.” This will be a message for Christians. In the evening at 7 o’clock the subject will be “The Great Need of . To-day—Christian Friendship.” The choir will render the anthem, and a very warm invitation is extended to visitors and strangers to the city to worship at the Congregational Church, Broadway. The services in St. Andrew’s Church to-morrow will both be conducted by Rev. G. T. Brow r n, M.A. In the morning, his subject will bo “Christ’s Demand—Fidelity not Impossibility." The children’s talk will be on ‘‘ln Little and In Much." The evening' subject will deal with the question: “Is Life a Privilege?" Worshippers are asked to remember the morning service will be at 11 a.m. (summer time). At the .Baxfiist Church the preacher at both services will be the Rev. C. S. Matthews. His morning subject will bo “Seeing Suffering is, Can God Be?" and the evening service subject, “The Perils of a Partial Obedience." *At the close of this service the ordinance of Believers’ Baptism, by immersion, will be held.
