A young New Zealander, Joseph Vivian McGrath, who escaped from Fanny Bay gaol a week ago, continues to elude the police in a mangrove swamp three miles away. Over 50 black trackers and other natives arc searching, but unemployed and sympathisers of McGrath aro said to be helping him with surreptitious food supplies.
