After visiting Palmerston North for the Dosser-Eodgors wedding, Mrs. A. Hole went on to Pahiatua to stay with her daughter, Mrs. D. Lovelock, before returning to Hatuma.
Madame Winnie Fraser, who has been spending some months in Australia, will leave Sydnoy on October 12 for New Zealand. Last month she sang at i a big Eed Cross rally in the Town Hall, Sydney, the other soloists being Miss Marie Bremner, Mr. Frank Hutchins, and Mr. Alf. Cunningham.
The service of confirmation was conducted at All .Saints’ Church on Friday night by Et. Ecv. Dr. Sprott, Bishop of Wellington, who was assisted by Canon G. Y. Woodward, Ecv. F. 0. Bali, and Ecv. A. C. Zimmerman. Ninetyeight candidates were presented. There was a large congregation and the Bishop gave an impressive address from tho text, "Let This Mind Bo In You, Which Was Also in Jesus Christ,” Philippians 11. 5. The service was choral, Mr. J. Holmes Eunniclcs presiding at tho organ.
Members of tho Manawatu Ladies’ Golf Club who journeyed through to Wanganui to tako part in the New Zealand ladies’ golf championship tournament which opens on Wednesday, arc: Mcsflames 11. C. Collinson, Brookcr, 11. McDowell, Stewart, Spcccklcy, Brookcr, McKcgg and Miss Scott. Miss Jepson (Palmerston North Club) is also participating. Mcsdamcs L. Seifert and L. Cooper will represent the Manawatu Club at tho annual meeting of the New Zealand Ladies’ Golf Council which is held during the tournament.
