AJ.C, Spring Carnival ORO AND ROGILLA WIN SILVER SCORN AGAIN DISAPPOINTS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Sunday, 7 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. S. The A.J.C. was favoured with ideal weather and an excellent track, and the attendance was 30,000 for the concluding day of the spring carnival at Rnndwiclc on Saturday. Though the fields were small in several events the horses entered lacked nothing in the point of quality, making for a splendid day’s racing. ■ Oro followed a third placing in the Metropolitan Handicap with a decisive victory in tho Waverley Handicap. Dole was well fancied for the Chester Handicap but was unable to display his customary early speed and finished at the rear of the field. Silver Scorn ran well in. the early stages of the Eandwick Plate but was unable to keep pace with Rogilla in the run. home and she finished fourth. Results: — CANONBURY STAKES, five furlongs. PASHA, 8.5 (Bartlc) ..... 1 Robber, 8.5 (D. Munro) 2 Gladswood, 8.5 (McCarton) .. 3 Pifteeu started. Vagabond led for the first furlong from Pasha and Ruling Queen. Rounding the far turn Pasha assumed the leadership from Robber and Constantine. Maintaining -his advantage, Pasha secured the verdict by one and a half lengths. Time, 1.1. WAVEBLY HANDICAP. ORO, 8.4. (McCarten) ...... 1 Dalmatic, 7.13 (Lightfoot) >. 2 Cherbourg, 6.10 (Parsons) .... 3 The other starters were Nord and Broad Arrow. Commencing slowly, Cherbourg led from Nord, Dalamtic, Broad Arrow and Oro, running in that order to the turn, where the field bunched. When they straightened up for the ruu home, Oro was in command and he won comfortably by one and a half lengths. Time, 3.9. CHESTER HANDICAP, six furlongs. MULTUDO, 9.7 (Pike) ......... 1 King Pin, 8.2 (Pratt) .... ... 2 Tatyoon, 7.13 (James) ...... 3 Sixteen‘started, including Dole. Multudo was smartest away from Le Touquet, King Pin and Dole and Multudo led into the straight. Going on he won with ease by two lengths. . Time, I.IIJ. EANDWIOK PLATE. ROGILLA, 9.4 (Munro) ..... 1 Lough Neagh, 9.2 (Tanwan) .. 2 Topical, 9.3 (McCarten) .... 3 The other .starters were Herolag© and Silver Scorn and when they had settled down Herolage was pacemaker from Topical,. Rogilla, Silver Scorn and Lough Neagh,. The positions were unchanged until, nearing the turn where the field bunched. Passing the Leger Rogilla cleared away and appeared likely to win with ease but Lough Neagh, finished fast and got. to within a length of the winner. Time, 3.45^. GLIB-BORN STAKES. BURLESQUE, 8.7 (Webb) ... 1 Dromos, 8.7 (Laycoek) 2 Journal, 8.4 (Knox) ......... 3 Thero were nine starters. Dromos was the early pacemaker from Gay Hawk, Burlesque and Wexford and turning into the straight, Dromos was a length clear of Gay Hawk and Burlesque. At .the distance Burlesque drew away from the field, and finishing strongly, passed tho judge with three lengths in hand. Time, I.3SJ. FINAL HANDICAP. MAGNITAS, 8.2 (O’Sullivan) I Bold Boy, 8.5 (Lightfoot) .... 2 Satmoth, 8.9 (Tanwan) ...... 3 Fourteen started, including Master Brierly. When they had settled down Doda Pen took up the running and led to tho turn from Mince Pie, Satmoth and Maltdale. From a packed field passing the Logcr Magnitas made a dash to the post closely pressed by Bold Boy. In a good finish Magnitas did best and won by half a length. Time, 2.41. WR.O. RESULT. Received Sunday, 7 p.m. MELBOURNE, Oct. S. The following result is from the Victorian Racing Club meeting:— STAND HANDICAP I’EATU, 6.8 (Moran) 1 Glenvarloeb, 7.10 (Sharpe) .. 2 Wheriko, 7.11 (A. Reed) .... 3 Twenty-two started, including Weather wise. Won by two lengths, a length. Wcatherwise was fifth. Time, 2.5 R
