Comedy Pair Returning in Another Delightful Picture
ZASU PITTS AND SUMMERVILLE IN “HER FIRST MATE”
Slim Summerville and Zasu Pitts will soon l>e hack in town. This delightful comedy pair open an engagement at the Regent on October 21 in “Her First Mate,” their latest Universal co-starring vehicle and to say that they have outdone . t.heir previous efforts is to put it mildly. The picture is a positive riot of merriment. Summerville and Miss Pitts are presented as a married couple living in a 'hick’ town on the shore of Long Island Sound, with the husband dreaming of a career as captain of an oceangoing freighter—and working in a menial position on an Albany River night boat. The fun begins in real earnest when his wife, in an attempt to satisfy his longing, secretly spends their entire ;joi l ut savings to buy for Hum the little ferry boat which operates out of their town, notwithstanding jihe fact that the ambitious Slim re-
gards the ramshackle tub with, lofty contempt. Never before have Summerville, and Miss Pitts been so aptly cast as in “Her First Mate,” and never before have they appeared together in a picture so plentifully supplied with funny situations and dialogue.
