Please telephone Samarang to have two gallons of oil on the ground, as I may have to land for extra oil. Also remind Sourabaya about landing lights. Thank you; cheerio, Kingsford Smith.” Departure From Alor Star Received Tuesday, 7 p.m. SINGAPORE, Oct. 10. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith left Alor Star at 6 o ’clock this morning for Sourabaya. Still Ahead of Record “SMITHY” IN MALAY STATES. JAVA STAGE NEXT. SINGAPORE, October 9. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith arrived at Alor Star, Malay States, at 5.20 this evening. He said he was feeling very well. When reminded that ho was ahead of Scott's time, having reached Alor Star on the sixth day as againet Scott’s seventh day, “Smithy” said he was not out to break the record, but he wished to return to Australia as soon as possible. He will be leaving at daybreak on Tuesday, His next stop will be either Batavia or Sourabaya, Java.
