NEGOTIATIONS STILL IN TRAIN. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Tuesday, 7 p.m. NEW YORK, Oct. 9. Mr. Naylor discussed a possible Winooka-Equipoise race at Belmont park on November 7 with Mr. Whitney and Mr. Harry Buck, secretary of the United Hunt Association, here to-day. Mr. Naylor informed tho Australian Press Association: “The negotiations arc nearing consummation.” The differences encountered revolve around the weights and the distance. Mr. Naylor favours 7.2 and not more than seven furlongs. Mr. Whitney wishes 8.8 and a mile. Mr. Naylor said he would agree to heavier weights, but would insist upon his distance. A Laurel message states that the date of the Winooka-Equipoise Tace has been changed to October 20, apparently because two big stakes are scheduled for Saturday. It is hoped that Winookai’s appearance will increase the ordinary light Friday attendance. Jamestown has apparently been eliminated as a possible opponent. Winooka, in an impressive work-out, ran live furlongs in 1.03 2-5. Winooka Nominated for Baltimore Handicap Received Tuesday, 10.30 p.m. BALTIMORE, Oct. 9.
