Queen Carnival Notes

DANCE FOR PUBLIC SERVICES’ QUEEN. A special danco to be held at the Central. School on Friday night has been arranged by the Central School Committee and teaching staff in aid of the Public Services’ Queen (Miss Kathleen Richards). The Central School dances arc widely known throughout the district, and it is anticipated that this special effort on behalf of the committee will be accorded the usual fine support. HONORARY ORGANISER APPOINTED. At a meeting of the Carnival Executive, hold last evening, Mr Donald McDonald, who had been appointed organiser for the Queen Carnival, tendered bis resignation, which was accepted with regret. Mr Cyril Day was appointed honorary organiser in his place. POLICE JOY NIGHT TO-MORROW. Arrangements are well in hand for the first public function to be given by the local members of the Police Force. Urged by the desire to help, an energetic committee is gradually finalising all the details necessary to make its initial effort, the dance at the Empire' Hall to-morrow night, the success it surely deserves to be. The proceeds will augment the funds of the Public Services’ Queen, Miss Kathleen Richards, who will be present at the function. Needless to say, the entire proceedings will be held under the strictest of police supervision!
