Mr Holland’s Poetry

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I. notice in this morning’s issue of tho Manawatu Daily Times a letter signed by Mr. H. E. Gunter asking for information regarding the publication in book ’form of the late Mr. 11. E. Holland’s poems. I have very much pleasure in informing Mr. Gunter and all other interested readers of your paper that over forty of the- late Mr. Holland’s poems are incorporated in a book titled "Red Roses on the Highways,” and can be procured from the writer of this letter.

To those of us who have had the honour and pleasure of reading this book is revealed the Godliness and sincerity of its composer. I am sure, Hr. Editor, no one could read Mr. Holland’s verses without feeling the better for so doing. Take for instance his '‘Birthday Wish” “May ail your years bo fields of flowers, Your life a stream of golden hours, And every path your feet shall tread Be strewn with roses white and red.” What a beautiful wish? What more could be hoped for? This is typical of all his verses, and I sincerely recommend all lovers of good literature to read Mr. Holland’s.“ Bed Eoses on the Highways.” —I am, etc., E. S. WATSON, Hon. Secretary Palmerston North Labour Eepresentation Committee. Palmerston North, Oct. 11.
