Banks Apprehensive of Central Bank Control

MANAGEMENT BY PIN ANDIAL EXPERTS URGED.

United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Oct. 11, 11 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 11.

The Financial Times says that private advices received in London at the week-end indicate apprehension by the banks operating in New Zealand as regards control of tho Central Bank. It is feared that proposals to vest control permanently in the Government of the Day are receiving support, and an immediate assurance by the Prime Minister that the bank would be managed on the soundest bankinglines, in accordance with permanent policy, by financial experts, would allay the anxiety felt.
