State Advances Department And Relief Workers

’ Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. In the House of Representatives this afternoon, Mr. A. S. Richards asked the Minister of Employment whether ho would confer with the Unemployment Board as to the possibility of making some arrangements with the State Advances Department for the purposes of meeting part of the rents payable by tenants and tenant-owners to enable them to remain in their houses. Hon. A. Hamilton said that, as the matter was one ot' general policy, the Unemployment Beard could not agree to make any special arrangements for meeting any portion of payments due by relief workers in respect of houses mortgaged to the State Advances Department.
