Agreement on Empire Air Mail Service
AUSTRALIA’S RIGHT TO WITHDRAW CONCEDED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Friday, 1 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 28. It is reported that Australia's right to withdraw if dissatisfied from the 'Empire flyingboat airmail service has been conceded by the British Government. A complete agreement is now assured and simultaneous announcements by all the Empire Governments concerned are likely to be made within a month.
It is understood the British Government takes the view that as it has decided to establish a service between London and Auckland whether or not Australia agreed to participate, it was not making any real sacrifice in giving the Commonwealth the right to leave the partnership at any time it desired.
