Dance for Miss I. Dummer, Feilding

On Saturday evening Miss I. Dummer who on February S leaves Wellington by tho Awatea for a holiday visit to Sydney was given a farewell dance at the Women’s Division rooms by Mrs. S. D. Pearce and her daughter, Mrs. Russell Darragh. It was a very bright occasion and many friends of Miss Dummer were there to wish her bon voyage. Mrs. Pearce welcomed the guests gowned in black floral georgette and Mrs. Darragh in a beige and brown early Victorian frock fashioned of taffeta with which she woro a smart little brown taffeta jacket. A pretty model of pale pink organdio was worn by tiro guest of honour. Tho decorations were most effectively carried out with huge bowls of handsome pink and blue hydrangeas and Miss Muriel Fitzpatrick and Mr. Jack Pearce were those who played for extra dances. Before supper a beautiful bouquet of pink and blue flowers made by Miss Joan Billmau was given Miss Dummer by Mrs. Pearce and Mr. Pearce on behalf of the gathering then presented her with a very fine initialled suitcase for both of which she in a charming little speech thanked the donors. Mr. T. Collins, as an old family friend, voiced te sentiments of all at the dance in wishing Miss Dummer a very happy holidays to which her father made suitable reply.

Miss Dummer was accorded musical honours and a particularly happy evening terminated with tho singing of “Auld Lang Syne." Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Dummer, Mr. and Mrs. T. Collins, Misses Ann Page, Joan Billman, Dorothy Burgess, Mona Thompson, Hazel Wilson, Kathleen Coles, Vivienne Barltrop, Nellie Desmond, S. Duffy (Waverly), Althea Castles (Wellington), Amy Clarke, Cecil Andrews, Vera Whisker, Cope, Nora Burke, Messrs. B. Irvine, D. Smith and J. Betteridge (all of Palmerston North/, J. and S. Pearce, N. Fitzpatrick, D. Burke, G. MeCorkindale, C. Collins, P. Gifford, L. Jones, H* Waugh, S. Orr and C. Parker.
